Edmonton Sux

So, here we are, it's not quite 6pm and pitch black outside. I feel like it's REALLY late, but of course it's not. It's been an unusually slow day here, so I've gotten a lot of opportunities to speak to my co-workers, which is kinda cool. That said, I am bored out of my skull and my wrist is just killing me.

I went out earlier this week and spent all kinds of money I didn't really need to spend. Have to stop going to the cool goth store and hitting the sale racks. For some reason $110 tops start looking reasonable when they were originally $140 *headesk*. Anyway, now that I have this really excellent wardrobe I'm looking for an excuse to wear it out somewhere. Thinking I need to make a trip to the local goth bar, New City. Tonight would be especially good as it is German Industrial night. But I'm really tired from this week, Coronet tourney is tomorrow, and I still have a boatload of things I need to get done for said tourney.

The to-do list:
- Put some tabs on my banner for hanging
- Complete the hand-sewn linen dress I've been working on all week (and which is probably why my wrists hurt)
- Warp and weave a piece of largesse
- Finish the SCA report for the 3rd quarter (none of which I have recorded yet)

In other news, the weather here sucks so bad that instead of posting the usual "calls in queue" stuff on the information monitors, they are posting road reports and the temperature (which is about -20 and then wind chill on top of that so it feels like -30 - whoopee).

So, do I brave the roads and windchill so I can experience a wild night at the club with thumping German techno? Or do I head home and work on some of my projects in hopes of getting at least a few done?

Bit late for advice now, but unless you are fighting in the tourney I say you should go out to the club, and show up the the event bleary eyed and a little late.

Sad about the weather, I met Em for lunch here in TO, it was warm enough that I didn't need a jacket. Ever heading to this end of the world ?

Yeah, going to be there from Christmas day for a little over a week. Not planning on doing a big tour of SWOntario, but if you happen to be in London, we'd love to get together with you.

And no, not late for advice at all, still have another hour of work before I need to decide. Not fighting in the tourney, but being fought for, and have to be ready to go when my fighter is as he is my ride. So being too bleary-eyed and/or late will frustrate the heck out of The Old Man.

Jason's not in the mood and I can't get anyone else to go, so I think I'll be going next week.

If you have time on the schedule for it, I'd love to get together with you when you're in Ontario. I'll happily drive to London to see you.

And, if I can, I'll even try to kidnap Bidgie and Tang and hide them in the back of the car.

I have no schedule, you're welcome to come visit, and we have a pool :) Let me know when you're thinking of coming. (519) 657-3445 at my parent's place or (780) 710-0910 for my cell.

An indoor pool, right?

Let's see how the d'courci get together settles out, and then perhaps make plans from there. Fortunately, we've got good lead time.

We will be in London, we would love to see you two. perhaps for a dinner or something. Seems our time gets sucked up quite quick, but since we missed you last year I feel we should make an extra effort this year

Yes, if you're in town we will have to make an effort to get together some time.

The trim for largesse? FA-BU-LOUS! Thanks so much honey for all your hard work.

And the banner? WOW! What a ton of work and splendid!

It was good to see you - even briefly : )

HUGS

No problem. And now we officially know I can throw a piece of trim together overnight if required (I didn't start that one until 1am the night before) as long as I have some time at the event to do it.

About the banner - awww, thanks. I was trying to come up with something that wouldn't look stupidly small next to that tent of mine. That said, I think I want to make a nice Borealis populace banner to throw out in front of the tent too, as it would match it so nicely. And maybe some heraldic coats for the doggies too - heh.

And yes, seeing you is always brief. I need to make some less popular friends ;)
