Mine is my SCA name. I answer to it in real life, and in fact most of my friends right now know me as Eve, not as my legal name. My SCA webpage has a full story behind the name.

Kes is my mundane nickname, named for the word my initials spell. I have been called Kes since I was a girl. When I went to choose an LJ name "kes" was taken (probably by some Star Trek fan) and so I choose kes_zone. The "kes_zone" is a time warp phenomenon that surrounds me, often noted by friends. It can either slow external time to allow me to get a lot done in a short amount of time, or it freezes time for those around me. For example, people drop by "just for a second" to visit, and end up staying for hours without realizing the passage of time, caught in the kes_zone.....
