Spent some time today programming my old ringtone into my new phone. The new phone is apparently capable of playing MP3s as ringtones, but the manual is sparse, so beats me how I would accomplish that. Unfortunate, as MP3s would allow for much cooler variety and choice. And less of it sounding like a Nintendo. I was thinking the Veronica Mars or Buffy themes would be perfect - alas. Instead, as they wouldn't translate well into monophonic tones, I went with the old standard of Blackadder. On the bright side, I KNOW I will never mistake my ringtone for anyone else's. On the downside, I don't expect many people recognize it and thus realize the coolness inherent in me going to the effort to program it in for myself. Mum has Pirates of the Caribbean (courtesy of me). I also have the raw data to figure out Adams Family and Bear Necessities (Disney's Jungle Book) but I'm just not motivated enough to translate them into Motorola code.

In other news, the Avacal exchequer thing is killing me. Seriously, this job is the suck. No one knows what I'm supposed to be doing. No one under me appears to know what they should be doing. As a result I'm behind on my report, and yeah, it sucks. No more jumping right into high-level offices. Next time I start with something simple, like branch A&S officer. Just wanted to whine and vent. Back to reviewing reports - sigh. Or maybe it's time to take a break and walk the doggies.

But the ringtones that come with the phone are either terribly generic (don't ask how many times this week I have not answered my phone because I failed to realize it was *my* phone ringing) or REEEEAAAAALLLYYYYY ANNOYING! I just can't do a Nintendo-ized "Ride of the Valkyries", especially when the phone company calls it "Soaring High" seriously!!!!???!! Ugh.

I love the custom ringtone thing -- mine plays the Fraggle Rock theme and while people hardly ever recognize it, even the ones who don't know if seem to love it! I had one lady tell me I had "the happiest phone" :P

As far as the exchequer thing - it's just the suck cause you are getting settled in hon. Once that passes, it will be a peice o'cake! Hang tough hon. We need you : )
