So there I am feeling all pleased as punch... I stalled away my day, didn't get my hair dyed, didn't go out to buy dog food and didn't shorten my dress and lo, the repairman comes to my door and while he has the stucco-repair on his list of jobs, the roof repair was not. So I was able to ask nicely and he's trying another fix to get that all mended. Obviously I was meant to be home so that could get fixed.

So then I head into the bathroom, I've done what the fates wanted today, I can dye my hair now. And I realize what else I left back in Ontario and forgot to pack... As I'm standing in the mirror, wondering at how my shoulders, back and upper chest all look like they've had ink poured on them and thinking... "hmmmm, never noticed my skin getting all dark like this when I dyed my hair before"... Well duh, it's because I always *used* to wear an old sweatshirt (which I left in London) when I did this before! So great, here we are, mere days before the wedding at which I had selected to wear a strapless dress, and I have a farmer's tan, and I'm trying to dye my upper body black. And not black like african-american, warm brown skin black, no, the blue-black that comes out of a broken BIC pen. Just perfect - I rock.

look into an airbrush tan for the wedding - they can repair all sorts of boo boos.

Airbrush tan? Like on the photos or on me?

Truth be known, I'm not really a "tan" kinda person. I usually try for pale. It's just that I've been doing work outside and walking my dog around mid-day for most of the summer, so it kinda built up on me. I'm not really sure if I should even try to "fix" it as my tan is rather pale anyway and I just might make it worse.

BTW, the dye did come off in the shower like Em said it would. But it made a damn good journal entry ;)

It's painting a tan on using an airbrush. Thus the painjob can be localized.

I dunno if they can do it pale but it's the kinder gentler version of evil sun tanning.

I was considering it if I got really bad tan lines for my wedding. Thank goodness, putting on the sunscreen everyday worked. I tend to get a really bad case of passenger arm (my husband tends to drive long trips - this way I nap! or sew!)

Do you ever geth the feeling that your life is actually the script for a comedy, and a dark and sarcastic one at that? I know I sure do.

Ah well, the dye should come off in a day or so (hey, at least it wasn't purple, like that one time with Dru...), the dog shall not starve (I'm sure of that), and the house will be fixed in time. For now, at least you have something to write in your journal!
