American coverage sucks

norsegirlDuring the parade of nations the American coverage managed to miss an entire nation because it happened to fall between the US and Canada. They spent too much time yapping on about their own athletes and then had to switch to Canada when they started coming in and the crowd drowned out the blathering about the Americans. "Uzbekistan just snuck in there" they said. I suspect they came in flag waving just like any other nation, you just chose to totally ignore and disrespect them. Not cool y'all.
They're also missing out on giving credit to many of the performers. They overlooked Lorena McKennit's contribution. Though to be fair I'm not sure if she was there or if it was just a recording. No comment on Joni Mitchell either. Again not sure if it's just a recording. That said, Ashley MacIsaac was DEFINITELY there in person and no mention was made to identify that fiddler.
In other news, Nellie Furtado had some kick-ass heels!
