Unproductive
Mar. 26th, 2005 09:57 amI'm having a VERY unproductive weekend. I have to get this file done and off my desk for review by Monday, so I was supposed to go into work yesterday. But it was Jason's birthday, and the doggies on the couch kept saying "no mum, don't leave us" and there was laundry to do, and well, I never made it to work. Jason and I went to dinner LATE and I dropped into the office for an hour to pick up the files so if I still didn't feel like going in today I could work at home. It's 11am and I still haven't touched any of it. If I don't get this in on time, I have a feeling I'll be in-line for firing as soon as they can spare a body. I have to get this done.
On the bright side, I did finish up a few loads of laundry yesterday, made Jason breakfast, and hung a picture we bought around valentines day that has just been sitting on the floor waiting to get damaged by playing beagles. Heck, we bought it before we bought Anna. I had a vision of where it should go when I bought it and it does look every bit as perfect as I'd hoped, so that feels kinda nice.
In other news, another beagle is arriving tonight. I pick her up at the airport at midnight. No, we're not so crazy that we feel we need to own three. We're just putting her up for a couple nights and then putting her on a plane to Calgary to her real forever home. She's middle-aged, housebroken and mellow, so this should be easy. Now, she doesn't reportedly like other doggies, but I figure she can be caged the full day and a half she's hereif necessary if my two won't stop harassing her.
I should get dressed so I can run out and do some errands. My plan is to buy a hand-held shower head from Canadian Tire to make doggie bath-time easier, since my two are kinda stinky and the new one that comes off the plane is DEFNINITELY going to need a bath if experience holds. I'm also going to pick up a large cabinet for my sewing room so I have a place to put the projects in progress that is enclosed and not likely to get flamed by my glass work. One of the other girls at work is cleaning out a house this weekend and I'm hoping she'll find me a free table to work on, otherwise I'll be hitting Ikea. Also need a fire extinguisher and one of those under-desk carpet protection mats they sell in office stores. And a chair, I don't think I have enough chairs to spare one for upstairs, and besides, I don't want to have to use one of my nice ones. Might hit value village before I head to Ikea to see if there's anything reasonable there. Also going to phone the glass place to see if my torch is in, since it would be much easier to have me pick that up than hope Jason can find it on Monday or have to wait until next weekend. And surely I could get another load or two of laundry done...
So busy a weekend. And yet I feel like I have accomplished nothing.
