One weekend to a complete festoon. True, it's a short one, but I also dinked around with a few beads I chose not to use. Here's a sample of the beads I made today:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I made two of each of the beads shown, these were the best ones.

And Image hosted by Photobucket.com the whole festoon.

Finally, no more ugly commercial beads for me. Not even any beads made by other artists. Just mine. Feels good.

Now, off to write all those thank you notes. Maybe dye my hair first... so procrastinating.

they all look absolutely awesome, eve!

i've been following your progress on these since the beginning, and it looks like you've done some really amazing stuff, even with the experiments that *you* didn't like :)

so, when do you start taking commissions, and have you given any thought yet to price per bead type yet? :-D

For you, I'd be far more interested in an unconventional type of payment. I'm thinking dinner with appropriately-paired wine either at your place or at Pennsic will get you a string.

I just love the latest blue and yellow beads and the trillium beads are kind of neat. I am not sure why you are disappointed in them!

I am sorry I missed you doing demos at War. Next time please let me know when and where as I would love to come and watch!

I didn't manage to get the flat one perfectly round and I'm not sure I like the completely melted-in effect on the round one. Artist pickiness, I'm sure you can relate.

Not demos, classes, I was teaching others how to do it. Sorry, I wish I'd known you were interested, I would have worked something out so it worked with your schedule. I had it set up in my camp all week so you could have dropped in and asked me to do a demo any time you liked. Teaching only really works in the evening or under an A&S tent as the ambient daylight makes the flame hard to see. *I* can work without seeing the flame because experience tells me where it is and what to look for, but students really need to see it.

If you want to actually try it I would happily schlep all the stuff to war next week just so we can play. I wasn't planning on bringing it again, but for you I would gladly do it. I know you're busy during the day, but if you want to come out some evening when it's not too hot and you're in the mood to play with fire...
