BTW I haven't noticed the touching issue confined to religion or class though. We do go to church and Rowan doesn't get petted any more there. We also go to thrift shops a lot (well Value Village anyway) and she hasn't been petted there once although when she was smaller, I did get stopped by complete strangers in the store (thankfully women) who wanted to know if I was breastfeeding. Intrusive, but at least they weren't touching the baby.
