Exhausted

I don't know how I'm going to function if this keeps up. I can sleep for the first couple hours of the evening (up to 4 if it's a really good night, but 2 or 3 is average) and after that I'm up every hour until morning. Every time I wake I have to get up and go pee, which completely interrupts the sleep pattern. I'm not sure if that is what is waking me, or if I'm just really in a lot of pain and my body upon waking decides, well, if we're going to be up anyway might as well deal with the bladder.

My back thing from that stupid beach accident back in Australia is acting up horribly, and the chiropractor can't do a thing about it because it's right behind the baby. I can't do anything either because I simply can't do any of the stretches I normally do to work it out. With this massively full belly I just don't bend that way any more. It's ironic that my biggest pregnancy complaint is actually just the effect the pregnancy is having on an old "sports injury".

That said, this week has kinda sucked for pregnancy symptoms too. The indigestion is terrible. I actually had to sleep sitting up a few nights ago. And as if that wasn't enough, the nausea from the first term seems to have made a reappearance.

As a result of my physical complaints nothing is getting done. I'm making slow progress on my projects and the kitchen is a disaster. It's been 2 weeks since I vacuumed anything, I can't remember the last time I dusted, and the clutter is threatening to overtake us. So the house is a mess and nothing is getting done.

I'm hoping that maybe I'm just coming down with something and I'll be better and back on track in a week. The pain and nausea have to go.

Last time I spoke on the construction I spoke too soon. They guys did in fact come out on both Thursday and Friday, but it didn't look like they did too much. Cut a trench out to the street and finished hooking up the sewer lines, but that's about it. I took pics but haven't pulled them off the camera, so we'll look at them later. Not impressive anyway.

On the bright side, digging up the sewer trenches unearthed lots of nice pebbles I could use to create drainage at the bottom of the pots I still had to plant. And having them all in one place like that meant I could go out and collect them instead of waiting for Jason to do it. I really can't be wandering all over empty lots, stooped over looking for pebbles right now, but if they're in a waist-high pile that's okay.

So I finally potted the last of the plants I've bought; the hibiscus for inside and the plumeria. And yes, I know y'all advised against re-potting the hibiscus, but it's not flowering right now, the leaves are just starting to regrow, there isn't a single bud on it, and my idea of "re-potting" doesn't really disturb the root ball at all anyway. Basically I buy a bigger pot, but some pebbles in the bottom, pop the plant out of the nasty plastic pot, drop it in and surround it with more dirt. I doubt that's very traumatic. Probably not the "right" way to do it either, but it works. The old pot was very small and the dirt was compacted and crappy and didn't hold any water so I was having to soak it daily. I'm hoping the new peat-moss-rich potting soil will help me out a bit there.

In other plant news it looks like one of my orchids may be pushing out a new flower spike. I've never had an orchid flower again after the first batch of flowers die off. I haven't figured out if it's because I suck at taking care of orchids, or if it was something to do with living in dry, cold Edmonton. Not exactly orchid country up there. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few months and let y'all know what happens. Very exciting for me anyway.

Today was a pretty lazy day. Made waffles and took a half-assed stab at cleaning the kitchen (just to make enough space to make waffles really). Did a bit of work today on [livejournal.com profile] rectangularcat's giftie. Still have quite a bit more to go, but hopefully will have that off in the mail by the end of the week. And tonight my guild made it to the last two bosses in Naxx for the first time. Amazingly, we cleared it! That made me pretty pleased as I'd decided tonight would be my last run. I just can't sit in front of the computer that long any more, too hard on my body right now. I didn't get anything out of it (which is fine since my character will be retiring for a few months anyway) but Jason got good lootz, so he's happy. Other than that no real news to report.

Tomorrow morning is a trip to the chiropractor, so maybe when I feel a bit better I can get more accomplished. After tomorrow I think I'll be moving up from bi-weekly to weekly appointments. The extra weight up front is just putting way too much strain on my spine to make it two weeks any more and still function or sleep.
