Canadian Idol?
Feb. 7th, 2007 11:12 pmLast week when I was caught singing in the office, my boss asked if I'd heard of Canadian Idol. My office mates, when I apologized profusely for not realizing how loud I was, all commented "no problem, at least you can sing." It got me to thinking...
I'm 28 years old, last year I can officially compete for Canadian Idol, and the auditions are next weekend in Calgary, so I think we might do a road trip. Do I honestly think I'm good enough to win? Probably not. Do I think I'm even good enough to get the golden ticket to Toronto? Maybe, maybe not. But at the very least, I don't think I'll make a complete fool of myself. That said, I am coming off a week of sore throat, so maybe I shouldn't speak so soon.
Anyway, if I were to drive to Calgary to audition... what should I sing? Many of you have heard me and know what I am capable of vocally. What would best show off my meager talents? It's gotta be slow (my throat was not designed for high-speed acrobatics) and it's gotta be low (high notes are not my strength). Ideas?
