Note to all Ontario friends:
I am here for a few weeks. Mostly busy with Jason's brother's wedding and other family engagements, but if you drop me a line I will be happy to get together with you. I just don't have enough time this visit to go hunting people down. So if you want to see me, it's up to you to make the request. I figure that's fair.
Anyway, today I spent the day with the mother-in-law shopping for quilt fabrics and attempting my first quilt. Considering we didn't even get together until almost noon, the fact that we bought the fabric, washed and shrunk it and got most of the main body of a double-bed quilt-top pieced seems rather impressive to me. I gather that the basting and actual quilting stages take longer than this piecing thing. Which is a bummer, since it was going along at a rather pleasant clip.
The downside is that all this quilting was done in a cat-infested environment. Dogs think this particular cat is "prey", so it's not like the cat was in the room with us, but it left plenty of fur behind. And I think I'm also allergic to the particular brand of hand-soap she uses. So I am really out-of-breath right now. Anyway, Oxygen-deprivation taking over - must sleep.
Edit: Also, as I am in Ontario and needing to be all social and whatnot, don't expect me to be reading any journals for a while. If you've got news, thanks to the new job, I'm about three weeks behind at this point on the reading, so just drop me a line.
