Or did you also have the childhood experience of having your socks slide off in your boots over the course of recess. By the time you got inside and stripped off your snow-suit, there would be your socks, bunched up in an offensive, uncomfortable ball in the toe of your boot that you couldn't do anything about while you were outside. The girls at work swear they don't remember this highly uncomfortable feeling.

Anyway, bought myself a new pair of boots this weekend, after the whole heel-loss incident I had a close look at the old ones and realized they were looking fugly. Too much salt and snow ruining the leather on otherwise good shoes. Anyway, the insoles in the new boots are doing the same thing that the socks used to do in my boots as a child. Damn bunchy things underfoot!

In other news, work not going too well today. Have a file we have re-acquired after many years of another accountant having it and there's a mystery back in the moldy oldies of the firm (pre-dating nearly everyone in the office). Unfortunately, said moldy oldy was shredded some months back - rats. So I thought if I can't find the 1991 year, maybe I can find 1992 and find a clue there. Also unfortunate, they were originally done at the same time, and the files being side-by-each, have both gone to shredder-heaven. So now I'm at the point of just having to assume they're right - bummer.

And for the weekend update, the holiday was nice. I firmly believe we, as a nation, would be a lot happier if we all had three day weekends every week. I managed to do a whole lot of cleaning and caught up on almost all the laundry (just need to finish one half-done load, do one load of whites and put it all away). The kitchen was relatively clean all weekend. Had free brunch courtesy of Jason's work on Sunday followed up by retail therapy at Ikea and the West Ed. Jason got a new winter coat (the dogs shredded the new one he bought last year) and some new boots (his last pair literally broke in half) and I got pretty new boots on sale. Got lots of WoW time in. Even managed to take the dogs on a nice hour and a half walk in pleasant 15 degree dusk last night which made them all blissful. Good times were had by all. Just need to get the husband to do his job (the vacuuming) and all will be well and presentable in my house.
