Yesterday morning, some dweeb managed to run his SUV off the road and flip it into the power box near our house. Single-car accident not on a highway, so how he managed to flip the vehicle is beyond my ken. I know when he did it because the power flickered briefly when I was doing the dishes before work. Luckily for us, that was all it did, no biggie. Jason's work on the other hand (immediately across the road from said dweeb's flipped car) somehow got kinda fried as a result. Yesterday when he got to work the place was locked and one of the QA guys was manning the door telling everyone to go home but check their e-mails for updates. Jason managed to have an entire day free of work. The other fortunate thing was I had sent him grocery shopping that morning, so he would have been late had he been required to work that day. Perfect timing.
Jason headed home, did a load of laundry for himself and at my request, walked the doggies and vacuumed the ENTIRE house (except my sewing room which we won't talk about, you couldn't get the head of a vacuum in there much less do anything for the carpet), and left the kitchen spotless. I didn't get off work until after 10pm, and Jason and the doggies drove downtown to pick me up, but there is nothing more comforting and satisfying than walking into a sparkling, clean house after a long day at the office. I've been stressing about the vacuuming since the doggies had their destruction ravage on Saturday night and I was just too tired to tackle it on Sunday. On Sunday I did manage to clean both bathrooms, change the sheets and do all the dusting, but with the fighter-sore muscles I just wasn't up to the task of vacuuming, and with tax season hours, it wasn't likely to get done until the next weekend, and maybe not then either. But I was getting really tired of stepping on sharp little shards of jewel case and the remains of the CD it contained.
Long and short of it is, my house is clean, my husband is a saint, and my dogs seem to be finally getting along. So other than working extra-long hours, my life is pretty perfect.
Well, back to work, I figure it's going to be another 12 hour day here...
