Name that dog!
Feb. 23rd, 2005 02:37 pmJason and I have been thinking we should be a two-beagle family. Originally we thought we'd wait until we got a house with a nice big yard, but Lizzy has been making it VERY apparent these last few weeks that she really misses having other doggies around. So I think it's time to break down and get the second dog. Beagle Paws has sent me the following picture of a little girl that might be just right for us:

As of right now, this little girl has no name. Originally, I had it in my mind that having two beagles they should be named Elizabeth and Regina (After Elizabeth I, who according to something I once read considered beagles her favourite type of dog). I don't think this one looks quite regal enough to carry off Regina though. So then I started thinking maybe Mary after Elizabeth I's sister. But I'm not sure that's a good dog name at all.
The secretary suggested Pat, as in "pat the dog". har dee har har
The student on the other side of the desk suggested Genevive, or Guinevere or some other generic medievaloid name (I can't remember precisely which one) but as I might encounter a human in the SCA using that name it seemed unwise.
Any ideas out there? And yes, I'll take humourous suggestions as well as serious ones (I could use a laugh at work). The ideal name will be both a good dog name and witty I think.
