Construction update

Didn't want to make the last entry too cluttered, so I've saved the construction progress for its own post.

Work continues on the house next door today even though it's the weekend. A few more lots sold this week, so work is back up to the usual pace and I've got some updated pics. They've also started work on the empty lot across the road, so soon I won't be able to see any more weed-filled empty lots from my house - yay!

A shot of a wild morning glory-type plant growing on the fence on the empty lot across the road. It's just another weed of some sort, but a pretty one.

July 27 - After several days off the crews come back and start putting in all kinds of tubing and stuff and a bit of extra framing (around the garage and front entryway).

The outside pic doesn't really show anything, so here's some shots from my dining room. You'll have to excuse the morning glare.

July 29 - Another day off and then the foundation finally gets poured.

August 3 - Foundation is left to dry for the weekend and framing is dropped off first thing in the morning. And strangely, more framing is dropped off starting at about 9pm. Aaaargh for construction crews keeping bizarre hours.

August 4 - This is the impressive part of the process. We go from concrete slab to recognizable house-form in one day!

August 5 - Most of the exterior walls go up and there's even some siding on the side of the house facing mine. (cheated a bit on this shot, it's actually first thing on the 6th when the crew's only been there for about 10 minutes)

August 6 - They finish putting plywood on the roof.

August 7 - All the windows are installed
