Bubble tea

The first attempt at bubble tea was less than pleasing. I think I bought the wrong kind of tapioca. It was more like tapioca sludge than bubbles. On attempt two I have made the discovery that beagles will eat raw tapioca. Wonder of wonders. Is there anything that beagles won't eat?

Bubble tea - how do you make it? I've come across it, but the magazine got thrown.

You go to your local asian supermarket and you buy drink powder and tapioca balls and you follow the instructions on the box ;)

There is not a single Asian supermarket in my town. So I guess it's off.

Yeah Mona had that problem too. I am not sure if she figured out what went wrong, but I am sure she will respond some time this weekend with some words of wisdom on the subject.

Bummer. I could mail you stuff if you want. But I'd suggest you try it first. Bubble tea isn't for everyone.

Wrong kind of tapioca. I have better stuff now. Seems to work.

I'm with you on this one. I've always wanted to try it too - and once I did, I was disappointed. I don't like the chewy bubbles :( that kind of makes consuming the drink difficult, doesn't it?

Oh, no, you're misinterpreting. I LOVE bubble tea. I just can't afford to feed this addiction by buying it out so I'm trying to learn how to make it at home. Still haven't perfected it though. Bubbles are still dried inside - grrrr.

Addendum: attempt 2 still didn't work. Stupid bubbles.

I never got it to work - i have lots of raw tapioca in the pantry... treats for beagles!

Bubble tea - remind me to get some next time we are in Calgary...

If we find the time, we should get some when you come to Edmonton for Winter War.

when you boil tapioca it's important not to boil it for too long, i think that's why yours turned to sludge.
